About Us

The word describes a scene of excitement, anticipation and action — fast-paced action. In the center of it all stands a man whose name is synonymous with the auction profession. As a matter of fact, if you knew him as well as hundreds of other folks do, you’d proudly refer to him as “Mr. Auctioneer.” He is Randy Fleming, CAI.

Randy’s involvement goes beyond auctioneering as a business, or even as a career. You might say it’s in his blood. Several generations of the Fleming family have spent more than four decades serving and supporting the auction industry. Randy’s father, Dean W. Fleming, CAI, was even honored by being named a member of the National Auctioneers Hall of Fame.

Randy’s own success story began in 1976, when he graduated from the Superior School of Auctioneering, Decatur, Illinois. Four years later, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Doane College, Crete, Nebraska. He also studied at the University of Nebraska at Omaha where he received a Certificate in Real Estate Land Use Economics. In 1980, he was awarded his Nebraska Real Estate Brokers license. He graduated from the Certified Auctioneers Institute, Bloomington, Indiana, in 1982.

In addition to the skills he demonstrated throughout his training and educational experience, Randy Fleming, CAI, has proven himself as a businessman. As President of Great Plains Realty Auction of Omaha, he has led the company for over ten years in automobile, truck, real estate and personal property auctioneering. His personal know-how and down-to-earth nature have made him a favorite for booking auctions and promoting sales through specialized marketing. He has a definite hands-on approach when it comes to setting up for an auction, including cataloging inventory and even the arrangement of the property to be sold. “I can’t over emphasize,” he says “how important it is to always aim for the highest degree of customer satisfaction. To me, every detail is important.”

Randy has enjoyed a great deal of visibility in the field, working since 1992 with Nebraska Auto Salvage Pool and with various commercial and residential real estate firms. Knowing about his background, it’s also no surprise to see him in the classroom. He was Director of Education for the Nebraska Auction School, Omaha, where over eight years of his time and energy went towards administration, public relations and recruitment, but especially to teaching. “I feel very strongly about developing standards for our Association, and I am committed to training individuals who will in time become leaders in our profession,” he says.

Randy’s credentials are impressive. Of course you can’t ignore an 18 year history of education, experience, business expertise, and leadership in professional organizations. A wall covered with plaques and certificates tells that story.

The real testimony to Randy Fleming’s ability to do what he does so well is his performance…on the job.

He is capable; that makes him confident. He is friendly, outgoing, genuine; that makes you comfortable. “I think what comes across strongest in my presentation is that I really enjoy working with people. All kinds of people. I think that works for me more than sales techniques or psychology.”

Randy is a gentleman who can bring vitality and enthusiasm to any arena, whether it’s public speaking or public selling. Most importantly, as the personification of auctioneering at its best, he’s a man who knows how to get the job done — to generate top dollar for every item bid. “I feel a real sense of satisfaction when the auction runs smoothly, when everyone goes home happy.”.

Don’t you think it’s about time you found out for yourself? Give him a call…right now, at 402-210-4885. If you want to talk, ask for Randy Fleming, CAI. If you’re ready to listen, ask for “Mr. Auctioneer.”
